JIPMAT Cut offs

JIPMAT, which stands for Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test, is the common entrance test conducted by NTA for admissions into the IPM Programme of IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya. According to the official results of 2021, the JIPMAT cut off for the general category student was 83.019 for IIM Bodhgaya and 81.85 for IIM Jammu. This was the first year JIPMAT was conducted, so many aspirants may not be aware of the exam; thus, expect the competition to rise in 2022.

The JIPMAT cut off depends on a lot of factors such as:

Total number of Candidates: The first and foremost is the number of candidates appearing for the exam. IPM has seen a tremendous rise in its popularity in recent years, though IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya are baby IIMs but don\’t expect this to be the easy gateway of IIMs. With each year, more aspirants will appear for JIPMAT, the competition will rise significantly. It is estimated that around 10,000 students will appear for JIPMAT in 2022.

Total number of Seats: The Second factor in playing is the number of seats up for grasp. Though JIPMAT has two IIMs offering an IPM programme, the total number of seats is 120. Both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya have 60 students in their IPM Programme.

Category Reservation: As you are well aware, IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya are autonomous government institutes; thus, they are obliged to follow the government\’s reservation policy. So, there are 120 seats, out of which 60 seats are for reserved category candidates. Thus, if you are a general category candidate, you are competing for just 60 seats.

The difficulty of exam: The difficulty of the exams is indeed a critical factor that has a considerable say in the JIPMAT cut off. Just look at the difference between the cut-off scores of IPMAT Rohtak and IPMAT Indore. It is simply due to the difficulty level of papers. If the papers are too easy, the cut-offs will increase and if the paper is difficult or tricky, expect the cut-offs to decrease.

Other: Apart from these factors, the marking scheme and the highest, lowest, and average marks obtained by aspirants also impact the cut-offs.
